In the Harzbiker Mountains

Got off to a great start in sun and made good time to the ferry at Newcastle. Boarded the ferry after the first photo and headed to the room then the bar. Great buffet dinner and then we wandered around the ship. Lenny and Catherine headed to the cabin for a snooze that turned into a sleep. We have all been there when you wake up thinking you have been asleep for a lot longer. Well he woke up without specs and glanced at the watch. 0845.... The ship docked at 0900hrs. Panic and a quick change into bike gear and off tho the car deck. It was locked and Lenny insisted that he got to his bike to get off the ship. He found the car deck empty and no others there. Looked at the watch again and it was 0145hrs....back to bed.

Off the ship and met by the Dutch IPA and enjoyed the breakfast with them before the  long ride in the sun to Germany and to Pension Roseneck in Bad Lauterberg. Some beers and off the the Italian restaurant. 

Today (Monday) got the guided bike tour from Greg Niven at the hotel. Fantastic roads through the mountains and towns. Tomorrow is a free day and we are planning a wee tour of our own.
